Foods Associated with AllergiesHere is a brief review of the association of allergies to food(s) and to chemicals in foods with psychological symptoms.
We usually think of allergies as someone sneezing because of pollen or pet dander when we think of allergies. However, there are a variety of ways allergies can manifest in people who are susceptible. One way is inflammation of the brain. Research has shown that brain inflammation is connected to virtually all types of mental illness including mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, as well as more serious conditions. As stated elsewhere, mental health challenges can have different causes and also multiple causes. Other issues may need to be addressed. However, we believe it is important for people to know if their psychiatric symptoms are due to exposure to an allergen. Eliminating the allergen(s) can result in achieving mental and emotional balance and a healthier and happier lifestyle. |

Our Toxic World, A Wake Up Call, Dr. Doris Rapp |
Here is a brief introduction to Doris Rapp, M.D. by one of our Board members.
"Dr. Doris Rapp is a board certified internist; a pioneer environmental specialist & pediatric allergist. She is also a homeopath. With many books
to her credit, she is an international leader in the field of environmental disorders in children. My oldest son, now 40 years old, was a patient of
Dr. Rapp when he was 4 years old. We went to her office..............for many testing sessions. My son was given subcutaneous (under the skin) substances & then we would watch for his reaction. He was diagnosed with many food allergies & airborne allergens. One significant reaction was to red food coloring. My son was sitting & playing quietly in his chair – within minutes of receiving the red dye under his skin, he was down on the floor, scampering around in circles & grabbing & hitting people in their legs. I was astonished at his reaction, not really believing – until this episode – that food could affect mood so dramatically. I changed my son’s diet to exclude these artificial colors, flavors, flavor enhancers, anything artificial. His behavior improved. I've read her books, know her personally & I am in awe of her research & results."
